Explore the world through song, as award-winning vocalist and educator Tamara Jokic discusses world music and performs songs in various languages — while bringing their historical and cultural contexts to life via images, video, and stories.
Tamara Jokic is a singer and composer born in Serbia. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, she moved to New York, where she is currently living and creating. Singing in more than 10 languages, Jokic develops her own expression in the world music genre, nurturing the fusion of Mediterranean and Balkan music. Devoted to Mediterranean culture, music, and languages, she has composed and performed with world-class artists such as Javier Limón, Mariza, Panagiotis Andreou, Amira Medunjanin, and Zulfu Livaneli, as well as prominent gaming and multimedia platforms such as Netflix, Rogue Games, and Demagog Studio.
Jokic has performed in numerous acclaimed concert halls throughout the world, including Carnegie Hall, Symphony Space NY, Kombank Dvorana, Teatro Zarzuela in Madrid, and Kolarčeva Zadužbina in Belgrade, among many others. In February 2022, she released her first album, Transibérica, with Sony Music Entertainment Portugal.
