Talking Miyawaki – a training by Forests for Watertown
Saturday, July 2012:00—2:00 PMLucia Mastrangelo Room (2nd floor)Watertown Free Public Library123 Main St, Watertown, MA, 02472
This is a volunteer opportunity to learn about the Miyawaki Method and the specifics of the schoolyard microforest being planted October 26th at J.R. Lowell Elementary in Watertown.
All are welcome to come and learn (and share *your* ideas). Ideally, some folks will donate a little time at Farmers' Markets or Faire on the Square to help other Watertowners learn about the project.
We especially need volunteers for our Saturday, August 3rd Community Involvement Drop-By Event Noon to 4pm in the library – when we'll a) sign folks up to plant the forest (900 trees!) October 26, b) seek community ideas about the forest shape, uses, accessibility, and benefits, and c) spread awareness of the coming microforest.
