Clinical psychologist Dr. Lisa Najavits will be holding a free public health project to provide free support groups to help people in the community learn coping skills, especially related to helping people who have suffered from trauma and/or addiction.
We will be providing a weekly Seeking Safety group for free, drop-in services for individuals in the community. Seeking Safety is an evidence-based coping skills model that has been implemented for over 35 years all over the US and internationally and has been found to be extremely safe and effective. Our website www.seekingsafety.org provides more information on the Seeking Safety model.
We will be using the public space at the Watertown Library to hold these free support groups for anyone in the surrounding community who wants to drop by.
